You were sent a group email from http://vale.oso.chalmers.se/salsa/.
Dear SALSA user,
This email is sent to all past and current users of the SALSA radio
telescopes to spread some good news regarding the telescopes.
In-browser observing
Since a few weeks it is now possible to observe with SALSA directly in your
browser, without need to download any client software (previously
NoMachine). We hope this will make observations with SALSA even simpler
than before.
Two telescopes online
We now have two telescopes online again: Brage and Vale. Both are available
via the SALSA webpage at http://vale.oso.chalmers.se/salsa. We hope this
will make it easy to find telescope time also during the most busy times of
the year.
SalsaJ now works
Finally the software SalsaJ has been updated to work with FITS-files from
the SALSA webarchive. Previously the velocity scale was not set correctly
and results from SalsaJ were hence incorrect. Now it works. However,
important changes had to be made in how the FITS-files were written, such
as sign conventions. Therefore, SalsaJ can only read correctly FITS-files
made after 2015-06-23. We hope that user find SalsaJ an easy way to analyse
data from their observations.
Matlab SalsaSpectrum updated
The Matlab code SalsaSpectrum has been updated to work with the latest
Matlab versions. Also, minor improvements have been made, such as enabling
download of comparison data from the LAB survey on all platforms, and
fixing minor bugs.
All documentation should now be updated to reflect the above changes. Happy
observing!
